Fractal Bookmark Comes Out of Hiding!

I am diligently working on Sarah Braizear's satin stitching, but I do need to switch it up a bit as I can only do this satin stitching for just so long in one day. It is intense with my eyes having to really focus to get it (somewhat) right.

That being said, I pulled out Fractal Bookmark 705 by Cross Stitch Collectibles  yesterday. I haven't worked on it since the end of March, in fact.  It is fun working on this beauty again, and the colors really fascinate me as the design develops.

More Satin Stitches...

I am still working on the satin stitches. Someday I will be done with them. For now, I am enjoying the process.

At this point it is just the interior satin stitches.  The double satin border will come later.

Finally, the hart has eyes!

Working some on this one too:

And also a bit on this year’s temperature graph-

Happy also to have cheerful flowers in our backyard.

More Progress on Sarah B

I have been steadily working on Sarah.  All of the motifs are completed, and now it is time to stitch all the satin stitches. And I mean ALL--there are a lot of them scattered throughout the piece. I probably should have done them as I went along instead of waiting until the end.

First I am working on the center parts, last will be the double satin stitch border.

Sarah B Progress

Summer is quickly passing by us. We are staying home, relishing simple things.

I am still working on Sarah B. I will need to go back and do all the satin stitches, as well as the rest of the lettering. These parts will take me a long time, to be sure.

On a positive note, I am almost done with the motifs!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Progress on Sarah

It has been a busy few weeks around here. We are still staying home.  Many orders have been lifted in our area and there is more freedom to go places, but we choose to stay in our home.  When we go outside, we wear masks and are very cautious.

We have also been isolated from other family members and friends since the middle part of March.  We miss them all so much!

Zoom meetings help a bit in staying connected, but it's not quite the same. Nonetheless we are grateful that we have technology.

Lately I have been working on Sarah Braizear 1829.  Here is my progress on this piece.  I'm finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

Learning Curve on the iPad , Some Progress, and Neighborhood Flowers

I recently switched to posting from my iPad. There is a definite learning curve involved!

Today I accidentally deleted a comment written yesterday. Please know this was not done on purpose. I did not even see who left it, and I deeply apologize for deleting your comment.

We have been walking a lot this season, and I have been stitching most days as well.

Sharing photos of stitching and recent views on walks and in our yard.

Thanks for stopping by today.

While on our evening walk we viewed a gorgeous scene in our neighborhood.  The jacaranda trees' leaves adorned the street in lovely purple hues.

Here is Sarah B. as she looks today:

A very blue sky for our area, and lovely jacarandas.
The pandemic's stay-at-home orders helped out a lot with air pollution.
This was a magical morning in early May:

Another Finish!

Several weeks ago I finished Lizzie Kate’s Spirit of Christmas Mystery Sampler II.  I started it in the fall of 2017.

There will be lots of framing done in the future!

Progress, Stitch by Stitch

I have been busy working on Fruit Bellpull and more recently Sarah Braizear 1829.

So much is going on in the world, and my heart is sad from so many things.  Stitching is a wonderfully creative solace in times of strife and discord.

We continue our sheltering at home, and being safe as possible in light of this pandemic.

Sharing photos of my progress:

Be Well - Finished

I am happy to be finished with “Be Well”.  This design is a freebie from Needlework Press. I used regular and variegated DMC, Valdani threads, and variegated silk threads.

I will eventually finish this one in one way or another.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Another Finish!

Last week I finished my Houses of Hawk Run Hollow. Instead of completing 12 blocks, I decided to just do four of them. I renamed it HHRH Quartet.  I did change some of the wording.  I started this one in 2016 and it is stitched using DMC threads.

I also had another finish a week ago of a smaller project, and yesterday I was glad to have  finished another older one.  Hurrah! I am now down to seven WIPs.  I will share my other finishes on a different day.

I do plan on starting a new Satsuma Street one in the very near future.  I had quite a bit of the colors that are needed, but yet I did have to order a few from 123 Stitch.  Those items should arrive soon, and I am looking forward to that project very much.

Here is the quartet which will be professionally framed down the line.

I changed the wording here, deleting 'dead' and 'grave' and making it a bit more gentle.

I slightly changed the color of the flag's red stripes on this part.

I would love to live in one of these four homes. Most likely it would be the yellow-toned one, which is similar to our outside paint color now, in fact!

Please take care of yourselves, and thanks for stopping by today.

Variegated Sampler- Finished!

I recently finished this project.  I started it a few years ago, and it comes from the magazine Cross Stitch and Country Crafts. (March 1988 issue)

It is called the Variegated Sampler.

It was a joy to stitch, and I look forward to having it framed after the 'shelter in place' orders are behind us.
